Factors of case complexity, theoretically justifying care through CRIOAc or member centres, according to the instructions of the Department of Healthcare DGOS/PF2 n°2010-466 of 27 December 2010, published in the Journal Officiel, are :
- Patient presentation : patient with high anaesthetic risk (modifying the medical-surgical strategy) and/or with allergy to antibiotics
- Microbiology : patient infected with a particular micro-organism (difficult to treat, multi-resistant), limiting therapeutic possibilities
- Surgery : BJI requiring complex surgical procedures, often in several stages, with soft tissue reconstruction and/or bone reconstruction (the classic 2-stage prothesis change is not a factor of BJI case complexity)
- Relapse/failure : any patient who has experienced initial treatment failure
